Learner Objectives:

At the completion of this presentation, learners will be able to:

- Discuss the importance of  integrating community-based palliative care into the health care system

- Identify common chronic illnesses that may benefit from a community-based approach

- Describe the evolution of palliative care and its impact on quality and cost

- Discuss the implications of a community-based palliative care model of care delivery

- Identify future areas of research  needed to integrate community-based palliative care

 

The Trailblazing Topics in Gerontology, in part, provides opportunities for Nursing doctoral and masters students to present and receive feedback on their teaching.  Learners will be asked to provide evaluative feedback to student presenters as a way for him or her to learn and grow as a leader in Gerontology and Geriatrics.
